Membership
Become a member of The Independents.
Membership is free and takes about two minutes. It puts you on the register your ward candidate works from, so they know who to call when there is a meeting, a ward walk or news from your area.
What happens next
Your details go onto the party's register, which only the party's own team can open. Your ward candidate uses it to reach members in their ward.
We never sell or share your details, and we never ask for your ID number.
Membership terms
- Membership is free and voluntary. Nobody may charge you to join, and nothing happens to you if you choose not to.
- You support what we stand for. By joining, you commit to support the values and mission of The Independents.
- Your details go on the party's register. Your ward candidate and the party's organisers use it to contact you about party activities (meetings, volunteering and campaign news) by phone, SMS or email.
- We will not ask you for money through your membership. Asking for donations needs your separate consent, which this form does not ask for.
- You can leave at any time, free of charge. Use the cancel membership form or email info@theindependents.org.za, and we will delete your information.
- Your information is handled as our privacy notice describes, under the Protection of Personal Information Act.
